Cherokee IDPA Wheelgun Championship: Saturday, May 16, 2009
shooting a revolver is keeping in the spirit of this match
since Georgia already has a State Championship, this will be
something different and encourage the use of revolvers (or
low-cap automatics)
all COFs will limit pistols and magazines to 6-round max
all shooters must be:
current IDPA members
classified in their division (Novice or higher)
format
9 bays, 18 stages (3 long, 8 medium, 7 short), 176 rounds, "lost brass"
the skill set and balance approximate the Classifier's
3 SO's per bay, handling squads of 7 shooters
SO's will stay at the bay, and the squads will move
could accommodate up to 126 entrants over two days
63/day:
Saturday, 63 main entrants
Friday, 27 SO's (plus overflow, if any, up to 36)
trophies to be engaved with the winners' names
IDPA divisions/classifications plus subcategories:
Most Accurate SSR, ESR
High J-Frame (match is *not* 5-shot friendly)
High Junior (12-20 on matchday)
High Lady
Furthest Traveled
shooters are responsible for checking their scores!
only SO's eligible for prize table
"lost brass" also part of compensation
tentative schedule:
Thursday: 11am, match setup
Friday: 10am, SO's shoot
6pm, check-in/registration
Saturday: 8am, check-in/registration
9am, morning session (1st half of match)
noon, break (and interim scores posted)
1pm, afternoon session (2nd half)
IDPA-regulation equipment only
guns will be weighed, bullets pulled, and velocities measured
doublecheck the rules for your division!
match fee: $60 (ladies, juniors: $30)
entries received after April 29 not guaranteed T-shirts
entries must be received by May 12
due to squadding and scoring contraints, *no* walk-up registrations
allergy note: May typically has a high pollen count in this area
no sponsors -- just a few revolver gunsmiths and related vendors
