String 3: Advance to barrel, drop and fire 5 rounds at T1-T3.

Name: Tactical Retreat
Scoring: 5 shots Vickers, on 3 IDPA targets
Scenario: Two attackers and their dog get too close to you, so you create
some distance.
Designer: S Tod
Type: short; on-the-move Armed Citizen BUG
Procedure: Begin in front of T2 (dog). To signal ready, give the verbal
command, "Stop! Don't come any closer!" At the beep, while
retreating, engage T2 with 1 round to the head, then 2 rounds
each in tactical sequence on T1 and T3.
Props: 6-4-5 arrangement at 6-2-4 yards; yard-line
Name: Knife to a Gunfight
Scoring: 5 shots Vickers, on 2 IDPA targets
Scenario: Two addicts are looking to fund their habit. Both pull
edged weapons and start to advance. The first is so stoned
that 2 body hits don't take him down.
Designer: Jim Higginbotham (2006/1999 Nationals, Stage 5)
Type: short; 5--7yd moving-to-cover BUG exercise
Procedure: To signal ready, give the verbal command, "Stop! Don't come
any closer!" At the beep, retreat toward cover, engaging
T1-T2 with 2 shots each. From low cover, re-engage T1 with
1 round to the head.
Props: 5ft T1-shirt, 4ft T2-shirt; barrel, knee rug, yard-line
Name: Movie Madness
Scoring: 10 shots Limited, on 3 IDPA targets
Scenario: You are leaving the movie theater with your significant other
when you're attacked by 3 gang thugs. One of them takes
your s.o. hostage.
Designer: Robert Ray (2006 Nationals, BUG Challenge)
Type: medium; 2--5 yd BUG exercise
Procedure: At the beep, fire 2 rounds each on T1-T2 and 1 round to the head on T3:
String 1: Engaging T3 first.
String 2: Engaging T3 last.
Props: 5ft T1-shirt, 4ft T2-shirt, 6ft T3 w/Non-Threat; yard-line
Name: Gas Leak Where There Ain't No Gas
Scoring: 6 shots Vickers, on 2 IDPA targets
Scenario: A man in an Energy Co. uniform is at your front door, warning
of a gas leak. But your neighborhood isn't fueled by gas; so
you become suspicious, grab your pistol, -- and encounter the
uniformed robber and his armed accomplice, who shoots you in
the arm.

Type: short; 7-yd Armed Citizen BUG
Procedure: Begin each string with pistol on barrel: one hand only,
retrieve pistol and:
String 1: Engage T1-T2 in tactical sequence with 2 shots each.
Off clock: Score & paste T1-T2. Reload pistol.
String 2: Engage T1-T2 with 1 round to the head each.
Props: 5ft T1, 5ft T2-shirt; barrel
Name: Knife to a Gunfight, revisited
Scoring: 5 shots Vickers, on 2 IDPA targets
Scenario: (like Knife to a Gunfight, but advancing)

Procedure: To signal ready, give the verbal command, "Stop! Don't come
any closer!" At the beep, advance toward cover, engaging
T1-T2 with 2 shots each. From low cover, re-engage either
with 1 round to the head.

Name: Tunnel Vision
Scoring: 8 shots Vickers, on 1 IDPA target
Scenario: Just as you're getting into the passenger seat, a carjacker
shoves a gun at your spouse (the driver) and demands the
keys. You grab the gun in the glovebox.
Designer: S Tod
Type: medium; vehicle Armed Citizen BUG
Procedure: Begin seated, hands on knees, facing loaded pistol in box
(T1 to left). At the beep, retrieve pistol and engage the
threat with 3 shots to the body and 1 to the head:
String 1: Engage freestyle.
Off clock: Reload pistol and re-place in box. Score & paste T1.
String 2: Engage left-hand only.
Props: 5ft T1 (NT on left, hardcover on right); gun box, table, chair
Name: Ruckus from Another Room
Scoring: best 5 of division capacity, on 1 IDPA target
Scenario: Hearing a ruckus in a spare bedroom, you find a burglar in
search of your guns and cash. He smacks you on the head with
a pair of pruning shears and goes into another room. You
grab a pistol from storage, still groggy from your head injury.
Designer: S Tod
Type: short; 5-yd Armed Citizen (BUG-friendly Bill drill)
Procedure: Begin with fully-loaded pistol in box. At the beep, retrieve
pistol and empty it into T1: Go to slide-lock; best 5 shots score.
Props: 5ft T1 (NT on left, hardcover on right); gun box, table
